WHISKERS ON KITTENS II

(The Cat Strikes Back!)

Such was the phemomenal success of WoK I that Derek has been persuaded to return to the Ancient High House in Stafford with another collection of his favourite photographs. Derek's biggest problem, like last year, is that having been one of Britain's most renowned masters of portrait photography, who does he leave in ... and worse, who does he leave out?

Well, undoubtedly the collection must include his star model and inspiration (Mollie the Mog, above) but who else?

There is a simple way to find out. Whiskers on Kittens II runs from 22 September to 9 October 2010 so put the date in your diary and we'll see you there when all (or almost all) will be revealed! Keep checking back as some fishy hints (or red herrings?) will be appearing over the next few months as to who will - or will not - be included in Derek's latest collection.

Derek is delighted to announce that he is making good progress on his eagerly awaited book. Charting the first ten years of life of his brilliant colour portrait exhibition, Women in Focus, the book promises tears, laughter and the chance to get a rare insight into this most celebrated photographer and his work. The book starts at the conception, moves through the "birth" in London 1998 through to the Exhibition's magnificent 10th birthday celebrations at Woburn Abbey in 2008.

Women in Focus currently contains over 300 stunning colour photographs depicting the role of women in late 20th and early 21st Century society which has been lauded by press and public alike. Constantly updated to capture the ever emerging high profile of women throughout the country, Women in Focus has toured the length and breadth of the United Kingdom attracting much critical acclaim wherever it has been shown.

Derek can exclusively reveal that Her Grace, Henrietta, Duchess of Bedford, has agreed to write the forward to the book. Derek is delighted and would like to thank Her Grace for her involvement with this project.
